Income Protection When You’re Unable to Work
An illness or injury can affect more than your health. Disability benefits can help replace a portion of your income if you are unable to work due to a covered disability.
BrightSpring offers disability benefits to eligible full-time employees to provide income protection during both short and long periods of disability.

Short-Term Disability Plans
Voluntary Short-Term Disability (STD) can help replace a portion of your income if you are unable to work due to a covered disability.
STD at a Glance:
Because STD coverage is voluntary, you must elect coverage to participate, subject to the terms and eligibility requirements of the plan.
- Benefit: 60% of weekly base pay
- Waiting Period: 14 days
- Maximum Benefit: $2,000 per week
- Benefit Duration: Up to 26 weeks
Important: Pre-Existing Condition Limitation
A pre-existing condition limitation applies to Short-Term Disability coverage. Review the Short-Term Disability Certificate carefully for the applicable definition of a pre-existing condition, look-back period, and other coverage requirements or limitations.

Long-Term Disability
Protection for Longer Periods of Disability
BrightSpring provides eligible full-time employees with Long-Term Disability (LTD) coverage to help replace a portion of income during an extended period of disability.
LTD at a Glance:
- Benefit: 60% of monthly base pay
- Maximum Benefit: $10,000 per month
- Coverage: Company-provided
Benefits are subject to the applicable definition of disability, waiting or elimination period, maximum benefit duration, exclusions, limitations, and other terms of the plan.
State Disability Programs
California: Employees working in California are covered under the applicable state disability program.
New York, New Jersey & Hawaii: Employees working in these states may be subject to state-required Short-Term Disability benefits administered in coordination with MetLife.
Disability Benefits & Leave of Absence: Disability benefits and a Leave of Absence are separate programs.
Disability benefits provide income replacement if you meet the requirements for a covered disability. Leave of Absence addresses your time away from work and applicable leave or job-protection requirements.
